[Tough Love] 4 Rules To Implement in Life That Will Help You Drive Success
As mothers, we often find ourselves grappling with self-doubt and guilt, questioning our actions and decisions. This emotional turmoil is a common thread in the complex tapestry of motherhood. As we navigate these uncharted waters, it becomes crucial to hold onto certain life rules that can serve as our guiding compass.
In my recent podcast episode of Redefining Motherhood, I discuss four empowering life rules that can bring clarity and confidence in our life.
Rule #1: Go After What You Want
The first rule, as discussed by Amanda, is about chasing our desires and ambitions. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. It may sound simple, but it holds profound truth. Often, we keep our dreams on the back burner, not daring to pursue them. However, if we don't define and go after what we truly want, we'll always be stuck in the same place, wondering about the 'what ifs.' Whether it's a career shift, going back to work, or being a full-time mom, clarity about our desires is the first step towards fulfillment.
Rule #2: Ask for What You Want
This rule is centered around the power of expressing our needs and desires. As Amanda mentions, "the answer is always no until you ask." We often hesitate to voice our needs, fearing rejection or judgment. However, the reality is, people are not mind-readers. By not expressing our desires, we're closing the door to potential opportunities. This rule urges us to overcome our inhibitions and to assertively express our needs, increasing the chances of achieving them.
Rule #3: Step Forward
Progress can't be made from a standstill position. As Amanda points out, "if you do not step forward, you're always going to be in the same place." Stepping into the unknown may be scary, but it's crucial for growth. We should challenge ourselves, learn new skills, take on new ventures, and step out of our comfort zones. Stagnancy only leads to regret. By pushing ourselves to step forward, we are opening doors to new possibilities and experiences.
Rule #4: Just Jump
The final rule is about taking action. As daunting as it may be, we must take the leap and start somewhere. Fear of failure or the unknown often holds us back. However, Amanda reminds us that "everyone starts somewhere. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it does have to have a beginning." By taking the first step, we set things in motion. It's about diving headfirst into our goals and ambitions and figuring things out along the way.
These four life rules are not about defining what's right or wrong, but about embracing our unique journey. They serve as reminders for us to chase our dreams, express our needs, take action, and keep moving forward.
As we juggle the responsibilities of motherhood, these rules can provide a sense of direction and empowerment, reinforcing that we are doing an incredible job.
